Jay Marlowe is the current Head of the School of Social Practice at the University of Auckland and co-founder of the Centre for Asia Pacific Refugee Studies (CAPRS), which he co-directed from 2020 to 2024. A social worker by training, Jay’s work focuses on refugee settlement futures and how people enact everyday lives across borders, with a research emphasis on migration policy, transnationalism, use of communication technologies, and disaster risk reduction.
